Get A Nightmare By Watching "A Nightmare On Elm Street"

I have to confess this is one of the best horror movies i have ever seen and i really mean it when i say it's one of the most scary and frightening movie you will ever seen .It is not one of those film which is not horror film but is put in the horror genre,it's not a teenager's movie in which a psycho killer goes on to kill them one by one (The Scream Franchise,Psycho etc),it's not a movie in which there are demons and vampire wanna take over the world(The constantine,Blade),this movies must really be put in suspense and supernatural thriller genre respectively. But the Nightmare On Elm Street is totally different from above movies it's really horror & most important of all it has got a really scary villain which has got razor sharp blade in place of finger nails ,a deformed/burned face ,a really weird costume and most important of all a equally weirs sense of humor. The credit for all this must go to the writer and director Wes craven (Last House On The Left ,Hills Have Eyes,Scream 1,2,3) who proved his mantle in horror genre.

SYNOPSIS:-The teenagers on elm street are having a weird dream in which a man with burnt face is stalking them and trying to kill them and they wake up screaming and with signs of the dream being true (cut's in Tina's gown and Nancy's burnt hand) and suddenly they begin to die.....................(Sorry for such small synopsis but i don't wanna ruin the fun for you)

This film has got one of the most original and distinct plot and script

The film explores the differences and boundaries between dream and reality. The horror scene are sometime intense ,sometime suspenseful or a combination of them. Wes craven also devoted time and money on the make up of the Robert Enguland who plays the Fred Kruger. And while watching the movie you think you have seen it before you must be remembering a episode of "AAHAT" in which a tantrik kills people in their dreams. But don't worry the movie is totally different . The best thing about the movie is that it has a nice and distinct ending because when you think everything is over there is a twist.
Now talking about the acting all the teenagers have done a fair amount of job but they could have definitely done better. But the performance of Johnny Depp stands apart and he has definitely done the better acting in the group. John Saxon as the father of the lead character nancy thompson impresses and has played the character very well and if you think you have seen him in some movie it must be the Bruce Lee starer "Enter The Dragon" or our on indian movie "Shalimar".But the weakest acting has been done by Ronee Blakley who plays the mother of nancy thompson, I really laughed in the scene in which she slaps nancy because of their pathetic acting. But the strongest point of the movie is Robert Enguland who plays the main nemesis Fred Krueger and the score Charles Bernstein. The Robert Enguland really plays well the character of Freddy Krueger with his walk and voice, while the background score by Charles Bernstein sets the tone of the intense horror scenes as well as scenes that are suspensefull.

‘There’s Something About Mary’  is the end product of the collaboration when two comic geniuses like writer / director / producer farrely brothers(Dumb And Dumber;Me, Myself And Irene) and actor Ben Stiller(Meet The Fockers; Starsky And Hutch) meet to give us a true  masterpiece of the genre. This film really makes us laugh but it still has a layer of romanticness in it which makes it different from all other movies farrely brothers have given us before which were totally comic in there nature.

SYNOPOSIS :-The FIlm is about Ted (ben stiller) who has a crush on the Mary (cameron diaz), by chance he gets a opportunity to take her to prom night. But this opportunity is turn into a disaster by an accident(tragedy for ted, laughter for us) and then he gets no chance to met her again as she moves out of the town.Then after 13 years he release that it was love not crush(”crushes doesn’t last for 13 years”) and he hires a private detective Pat heally(Matt dillon) by advice of his friend. But the detective while spying on mary falls in love with her.Now the rest of the story is pretty hard to tell without spoiling the fun, so watch it and you will know it all.

Now talking about script, it is full with one-liners and many comedy scenes.There are 4 comedy scenes which can make anyone laugh even when you even think off them.And in the one liners my favourite is”I was f**king with you” which is said to such a point to ben stiller in the movie that you feel sorry and laugh at ben stiller both at the same time.Hats off to the director and writer Farrely brother and to writer Ed decter for making such a funny movie.Especially, the idea of a small band singing the song to the mood of the film and the last song which comes when the credits are rolled are fun to watch.

The actors have also done agreat deal of job to provide us moments to laugh at them and other characters around them .Ben stiller fits into roll of quirky guy who wants to have love of life. Cameron Diaz is as charming as ever and looks really beautiful in the movie. Matt Dillon impresses in the roll of a wicked detective and carrys a mustache which says ‘I am evil’. There is also mentally retarded brother of Mary named Wareen who doesn’t likes his ears to br touched played by W.Earl Brown who provides us a good share of laughter. And the two supporting characters namely “Dom” played by Chris Elliott who is best friend of Ted and “Magda” played by Lin Shaye look good in their rolls. But Dom freaks us out more than he makes us laugh with his nervous skin condition while Magda is more weird than funny with her excessive tan and pet dog,

But overall it’s a great film to watch with your friends.So, just watch this movie and you will laugh it and love it, b’coz There’s Something About Mary.
